4.5 Cold bend test.
4.5.1 Sa:m.pling. Two specimens shall be selected from each heat. If material from one heat differs by % inch or more. in thickness, one specimen shall be taken from both the thickest and thinnest material, regardless of the w,eight represented.
4.5.2 Metkod. Transverse bend test speciD mens shall be tested in accordance with . Method 231 of Federal Test Method StandD ard No. 151. Specimens shall be bent cold
through an angle of 180 degrees, over a diaD meter equal to the bend ratio times the thickness of the plate, sheet, or strip in accordance with table VII.
4.6 Weldability test.
4.6.1 Sampling. One sample shall be selected to represent each lot of steel subD mitted for inspection at one time, from one heat, of the same condition, and when heat treated, of the same process and batch. The sample shall be o.f sufficient size to prepare the weldability specimen shown in figure 1. The sample shall be of the maximum thickD ness found in the lot.
