4.8 Rejection.

4.8.2 Tests. The lot shall be rejected for failure of the specimens to pass the tests specified in 4.8 through 4.6.
4.9 Reinspection.
4.9.1 Reexamination.Upon approval 0£ the procuring activity, a lot rejected upon the basis of visual and dimensional examination may be resubmitted for examination proD viding the contractor removes all nonconD forming material from the lot.
4.9.2 Retests. Retests shall be permitted in accordance with Federal Test Method StandD ard No..151.
4.9.3 W elda,biiity. Four additional speciD mens shall be prepared and itested in accordD ance with 4.6. All specimens shall meet the weldability requirements or the lot shall be rejected without further retesting.
5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY
5.1 Preservation and packaging.
5.1.l Level A. Preservation and packaging of steel shall be in accordance with Standard MIL-STD-168.
. 5.1.2 Le:vel C. Preservation and packaging sh-ll be in accordaaee with .standard comD
mercial practice.
5.2 Packing.
5.2.1 L6'l)elA. Packing of steel shall be in accordance with Standard MIL-STD-163.
5.2.2 LeiJel C. Packing shall be in accordD ance with commercial practice adequate to ensure acceptance and safe delivery by the carrier for the mode of. transportation emD ployed.
5.3 Mar.king .for shipment. Marking for shipment shall be in accordance with StandD ard :MIL-STD-168.
6. NOTES
6.1 Intended use. The hot-rolled products procurable to this specification are intended primarily for use in welded structures which are not stress relieved or heat treated to improve mechanical properties after weldD ing. The steels are not intended for quenchD and..temper heat treatment.
6.2 Ordering data. Procurement documents should specify the following:
(a) Title, number, and date Clf. this specification.
(b) Form, size, and quantity of desired product (see 1.2).
{c) Chemical composition, if desired
(see .1.2.3 and S.2).
(d) Whether pickling is required (hot rolled products only).
(e) Finish, if other than that specified
in 3.6.
(f) Level of packaging and packing desired (see 5.1 and 5.2).
6.3 General information. High-strength- low-alloy -steels represent a specific type of
